The ‘You Can Heal Yourself’ foundation organises the Sunshine Coast Healthy &Lifestyle Expo which is the Sunshine Coast’s most ‘inclusive’, educational and professionally run Health Expo held annually in May at The Events Centre, Caloundra.
The Sunshine Coast Healthy Lifestyle Expo was born to fill a deep unfilled niche in the market that no other health expos were meeting. Many health expo’s in Australia and internationally are mainstream health conferences or trade shows, or more esoteric in nature and the void in the market for a balanced, integrative public health expo had not been filled.
This unmet need has now been filled with the Healthy Lifestyle Expo which features a balanced mix of mainstream and complementary therapies, successfully combining medical doctors and natural health experts on stage in the conference area which is open to the public. This balanced integration of medical, complementary, mindset and grounded spirituality is also followed up in the exhibitors selected to have a stand in the exposition areas.
We want to promote a healthier, happier way of life in an integrative, collaborative atmosphere, bridging the gap between all types of healing, and harnessing the power of collaboration between the medical, natural and energetic healing communities. We are dedicated to a more balanced, grounded and scientific approach using medical science, natural and complementary medical research, biology and quantum science as a base for our approach.
We truly believe that happiness and joy and living a conscious life are the keys to true health both for ourselves and our planet. The Pathways Wellness Association Inc will be bringing you events based around this vision and mission including the Healthy Lifestyle Expo and the Festival of Belonging in 2015.
Our vision is to create an atmosphere that allows even the most sceptical searcher of a healthier lifestyle for his or her family to feel comfortable entering the event without prejudice or feeling like they are walking into a hippy commune.
We plan to grow the expo into a national event, attracting visitors from all over Australia and internationally, with zones and smaller expo’s incorporated into the event to give a wholistic education to the visitor. Future areas and zones up for discussion and trial are: fitness, food, sustainability, community organisations, health services, indigenous health, etc..
At this time there is no one venue on the Sunshine Coast to cater for the growth we forecast for this event, however we plan for the local council to see the growth and effect on tourism that our event creates and push their plans forward for a large event centre while staying on the lookout for another venue.
From a small start of under 1000 visitors in the first year we plan to attract around 10,000 expo visitors by 2017. This expo is now unique in the world, with phone calls and emails coming from international events coordinators asking how we are getting medical doctors to speak to the public from our stage.
